Jennifer began dancing around her living room at the age of three, after seeing a production of Swan Lake. She began formal training at age eight. During her training, Jennifer studied with some of the finest ballet teachers in the United States, including Marcia Dale Weary (Central PA Youth Ballet), Igor Youskevitch (Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and American Ballet Theatre), Valentina Belova (Royal Flemish Opera Ballet), Winthrop Corey (National Ballet of Canada), Christine Hennessey (Royal Winnipeg Ballet), Arthur Mitchell (Dance Theatre of Harlem) and the instructors of the Joffrey Ballet where she was a scholarship student. Linda Brown needs no introduction in the Dallas area. She has been a beloved ballet instructor for many years, having touched the lives of hundreds of dancers in and around Dallas. Mrs. Brown brings her wonderful style of teaching, rich experience and added depth to TYBC both as a teacher and a choreographer.
Laura Price, awarded the “Texas Tap Legend” by the Dance Council of North Texas for 2012, is a creative and rhythmical tap dancer and teacher. She began her dance training in Dallas as a three year old and grew up performing with several local civic and musical theatre companies over the years in such productions as Anything Goes, 42nd Street, Whoopee, Peter and the Wolf, A Chorus Line, The Nutcracker, and Morton Gould’s Tap Dance Concerto. Laura’s career spans more than thirty years of performing and teaching, and is a 25 year member of Texas Association of Teachers of Dance. Laura has recently danced with the Rhythm Junkies and now performs with iNStep.
Originally from Dallas, TX Michael began his professional career in 1988. He has performed and choreographed professionally for Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet Company / AKLDC, Texas Ballet Theater, Contemporary Ballet Dallas, Company Mayes, Ballet Dallas, Dallas Metropolitan Ballet, Collin County Ballet Theatre, BCSA School of the Arts and Ballet Metrocrest. He has trained under the direction of Alonzo King, Ben Stevenson, Soili Arvola & Leo Ahonen, Thom Clower, Norma Shields, Ben Houke, Joyce Seaborne Bader, Kirt Hathaway. His credits include principal roles in Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, Snow Queen, Giselle, La Bayadere and many others. Michael received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Journalism at the University of North Texas. He has made acting appearances in feature films such as Dakota, and Born on the 4th of July. He has also choreographed and danced for television and commercial work.
Michelle has been teaching for 5 years using the CPYB curriculum. She apprenticed for 3 years under Mrs. Dulin and has observed several classes at CPYB. She has danced for 12 years, was accepted into the American Ballet Theater Young Dancer’s Workshop in NYC at the age of 12, one of three from her region. Michelle has been an assistant teacher since she was 10 years old and has studied not only ballet, but musical theater from broadway veterans of Chorus Line, Cats, Fame, South Pacific, Peter Pan, Jersey Boys, Aladdin, Shuffle Along and Newsies. She has appeared locally in Les Miserables, and Phantom as Bella Dova. She is approved to teach our Pre-Ballet and Beginning Ballet curriculum, alongside Mrs. Dulin, and also teaches Beginning and Intermediate Contemporary, and the Musical Theatre classes.
